“Cherry Group” commenced its operations in Hong Kong in Year 1975. Since then, the business of the “Cherry Group” has developed in response to the needs of its’ customers and the continuous changing market places. The “Cherry Group” is an accredited long-term supplier to the United States, European, Canadian, Australian and Japanese markets with a manufacturing capacity of around 1-1.3 million pieces of garment per month. We are experts in the manufacture of garments made with stretch fabrics that fit the contours of the body.
“Cherry Group” has maintained its General Office in Hong Kong. However, the real growth has been generated from manufacturing facilities wholly owned by “Cherry Group” throughout China, Bangladesh. It has acquired three plots of land containing about 44,649m2 in Yangon, Myanmar with a plan to develop into vertically integrated manufacturing complex.
Through vertical integration, the “Cherry Group” is able to provide its customers with quality, cost effective and timely supply of products. Its Hong Kong office provides the whole “Cherry Group” with administrative support, design, sampling, sourcing and a convenient facility to meet with its customers.
“Cherry Group” has three factories in Bangladesh, including three factories in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (“DEPZ”), all of which consist of a team of about 1,500 employees. It has just completed the construction of a 5-storey factory with floor area of about 2,300m2 (or a total of about 11,500m2) in DEPZ. Other than garment manufacturing, one of the factories is complemented with a separate workshop producing lingerie accessories such as narrow elastic webbing & trimming, bra wires and moulds, hook and eye tape and other components and more recently we have installed an internal dye-house. These in-house vertical auxiliary operations give the “Cherry Group” greater flexibility in lead-times as it is in control of its own destiny.
“Cherry Group” also has “bonded” warehouses inside of DEPZ in Bangladesh. This enables “duty-free” import of raw materials and export shipment of finished goods and stock. It also provides GSP/(Form A) under the Generalized Systems of Preference where goods can be imported into many Western countries including the whole EU, Canada, Australia and Japan free of import duty.
